Irachi Puttu

An easy and tasty breakfast preparation....Enjoy this with a cup of hot tea or coffee..


For Puttu
Puttu Podi/Fried Rice Powder:2 cups
Cooked Rice:1/2 cup
Salt :1/4 tsp
Water:1/2 cup

For Masala
Chicken:4-5 medium pieces
Onion:1,finely chopped
Green chilly:2,chopped
Ginger garlic paste:1/4 tsp   
Coriander power:1tsp
Turmeric powder:1/4 tsp
Chilli powder:1/2 tsp

Jeera powder:1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil-as required

Preparation Method
For Puttu
1.Grind cooked rice by adding little salt and water.
2.Pour this little by little to the rice powder and start mixing it so as to make the powder wet.
3.Keep on  adding and continue mixing, till u can make lumps when you clasp but which can be easily crumbled.
4.Keep this mixture aside.
For  Masala

1.Cook boneless chicken with salt and turmeric powder.Once cooled mince it and keep aside.
2.Heat oil in a pan,add chopped onions and saute until translucent.
3.Add ginger garlic paste,green chillies ,salt saute for few minutes.
4.Now add coriander powder,chilli powder and jeera powder and stir well until the raw smell disappears.
5.Add the minced chicken and stir-fry for few minutes until they well combined.Add chopped coriander leaves,mix and remove from fire.
For Irachi puttu
1.Fill the pressure cooker with water, not more than half its capacity and close the lid.(Remove the weight),Allow it to boil.
2.Put 3 tsp of chicken mix in the puttu maker and then add one handful of
rice mixture , Repeat the process till the puttu maker is filled.
3.Close the lid and place the puttukutti on cooker And steam the Puttu for about 10-12 minutes.
