Chicken Kizhi


Ingredients for Filing
Chicken:6-8 boneless pieces
Onion:1 1/2 ,sliced
Green chilli:4-5,chopped
Ginger garlic paste:1/2 tsp
Coriander powder:1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder:1/4 + 1/4 tsp
Coriander leaves:few,chopped
Curry leaves:1spring
Chilly powder:1/2tsp
Garam Masala:1tsp
Salt to taste
Oil

Preparation Method of filling
1.Cook chicken with turmeric powder,salt,pepper powder.
2.Once cooked shred and keep it aside
3.Heat oil in pan ,saute onion til translucent.
4.Add ginger-garlic paste,green chilly,curry leaves and saute for few minutes.
5.Add all powders and salt ,saute until the raw smell disappears.
4 .Then add shredded chicken and coriander leaves,mix well.

Ingredients For the Dough
All purpose flour/Maida:1cup
Salt:A pinch
Water as required
Food color for the ribbon (you can also use juices of vegetables like beetroot or carrot.I used carrot juice)
Preparation Method
1.Make a smooth dough using flour by adding salt and enough water.
2.Take small lemon sized balls from the dough and roll it into small circle.Place the filing upon them and shape it like kizhi.
3.In the same way make a colored dough using flour, water,salt and food color(or vegetable juice) .Roll and cut it to smal stripes and tie in the kizhi.

4.Deep fry in the oil.
